Lucky Loon Review

I have many years of use on the Haven XL and Haven Safari. I also have a video review on both of those. On the Spectre, I have not yet had the chance to get hands on with it.

BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front):
Based off the user feedback and speaking with the COO of Haven. This product is meeting the goal of converting the Haven design and layout into an ultralight version. The biggest weak point of the haven setup has been weight. This version reduces the weight to 4lbs 4oz as a complete system! It is definitely a contender if you are in the market. AND if it doesn't work for you you can return it.

Pros:
-WEIGHT REDUCTION!!
-Comfort
-Ease of use
-Extremely sturdy

Cons:
-Cost
-Still a newer product

Haven Spectre eliminates the need for separate ultralight backpacking tents and sleeping pads. This complete sleep system uses advanced materials to deliver tent-level protection and pad-level comfort in one ultralight package designed for thru-hiking and fastpacking.

Instead of Traditional Tents

  • Weighs as little as 4 lb 4 oz complete vs 5-7 lbs for comparable ultralight tents with pads
  • Faster to dry after rain due to suspended design and mesh construction
  • Low sidewalls provide better views and ventilation than enclosed tent walls

Instead of Separate Sleeping Pads

  • Integrated sleeping surface eliminates the need for a separate ultralight pad
  • Lay-flat hammock design provides consistent comfort for side sleepers and campers with back pain
  • No more sliding off pads or dealing with deflation on the trail
  • Suspended design stays dry even in wet conditions unlike ground-based pads

Ultralight Lay-Flat Comfort

  • MONOLITE mesh body weighs just 1 oz while maintaining Haven's signature flat sleeping surface
  • Lay-flat hammock design provides consistent comfort for side sleepers and campers with back pain
  • Optional Dyneema rainfly reduces weight to 7.9 oz vs 12.3 oz for silpoly
  • Complete system weighs as little as 4 lb 4 oz with pad and Dyneema fly

Ultralight Sleep System for the Trail

  • Lighter than most ultralight tents plus sleeping pad combinations
  • Modular design means you can leave bug net or rainfly behind to save weight
  • Packs smaller than most ultralight tents plus sleeping pad combinations
  • Sets up in minutes between trees or with optional stand
  • Perfect for thru-hiking, fastpacking, and long-distance trails like the PCT, AT, and CDT

Tent-Level Protection at Ultralight Weights

  • MONOLITE mesh provides 360-degree ventilation while keeping bugs out completely
  • Dyneema rainfly delivers 10,000mm waterproofing, exceeding most ultralight tents
  • Suspended design keeps you dry even when camping on wet ground
  • Storm mode configuration provides full weather protection in backcountry conditions

Note: Haven Spectre uses an ultralight lay-flat hammock design, but it is built to function as a complete tent replacement for thru-hiking, fastpacking, and ultralight backpacking trips.
