I have owned this pistol since 2018. It has always shot really well. It comes with 2 different recoil springs so you can reliably shoot +P ammunition, low recoil ammo, and suppressed. So just make sure you install the proper spring for what you are doing.
This pistol is setup to do anything out of the box, threaded barrel, good magazines, a VERY usable carry bag. This pistol was originally designed to compete for the Armys new pistol before the Army canceled the program then later restarted it.
My only gripe is the stock trigger, Its not good. Apex makes a solid trigger for it.
I would buy it again given the choice.
Product Description
The 509 Tactical is an extension of FN's 509 family aimed at offering users unparalleled customizability. The pistol utilizes FN's patented Low-Profile Optics Mounting System to allow for mounting over 10 different types of aftermarket optics through the use of adapter plates. The pistol also includes suppressor-height sights for co-witnessing with a chosen optic along with a slide cap that includes bump wings to protect the rear sight in the absence of a red dot optic. the 509 Tactical also features a threaded barrel for mounting suppressors and other muzzle devices.
This model has a Flat Dark Earth slide with an FDE polymer grip/frame, two FDE interchangeable backstraps, and suppressor height night sights. This model comes with one (1) 17-round magazine, one (1) 24-round magazine, and a FN logo soft pistol case.
